Local Activities

Crieff and Strathearn is at the heart of Scotland and is the perfect place explore and relax. There are world famous attractions and a plethora of activities throughout the county and on our doorstep is Crieff, the long established holiday town, which derives its name from the Gaelic word 'craobh' meaning trees.
Places within easy reach of the Wee House for exploring further afield are, Perth, Pitlochry, Aberfeldy, Blair Atholl and Stirling.

Hill Walking

The local area can accomodate the keen hill-walker as well as those looking for a beautiful ramble from the front door. The Wee House has, on its doorstep, the rugged Grampian Mountains as well as idyllic forest walks and riverside ambles. Check out this website for information on local Munros: www.munromagic.com

Mountain Biking

Scotland is rated as the number one mountain biking destination in the world. With relative ease, access can be gained to the multitude of trails criss-crossing Perthshire. You can hire bikes from Comrie Croft: www.comriecroftbikes.co.uk

Climbing

Experienced climbers or beginners should head to the rocky outcrops at Benny Begg. There are two main walls at the crag and they provide good sport climbing for a range of abilities. The Ceramic Experience, next to the garden centre, offers tasty treats and refreshments, so it’s worth a visit!

Fishing

The River Earn which flows through Crieff is teeming with Rainbow and Brown Trout. Permits can be purchased from Crieff Tourist Information Office. For those who enjoy Loch fishing the nearby stocked lochan at Comrie Croft provides magnificent views and plentiful fishing. For those brave enough, a quick dip in the lochan is very refreshing!!

Golf

The Wee House is located right next door to the splendid Muthill Golf Course. As you can imagine with Scotland being ‘the home of golf’ there is a plethora of golf courses in and around the local area. For those guests looking for a championship course, why not head across to Gleneagles to play a round at the Kings.

Castles and Gardens

With our most famous castles right on your doorstep, Scone Palace and Stirling Castle represent some very important moments in Scottish history. And only two minutes drive from the Wee House you'll find Drummond Castle and Gardens with the best example of formal terraced gardens in Scotland.
